On The Road Again...

Oh boy, I got to go for another car ride yesterday! As you can see, I take my co-pilot duties very seriously.

Here I am enjoying the sun coming through the sun roof...

Mom, are you still taking pictures of me?

Unlike most doggies, I don't like to stick my head out the window while we're driving. I like to put my head on the console so my dad can scratch my ears while he drives.

When we got home my friend Sandy came over to say hello. My tail is a blur because I was wagging it so much.

Every afternoon at about 2:30, a bunch of school kids walk past our fence. I like to watch them from the top of my snow mountain.

I decided to do a little sun bathing after saying hello to the school kids. What a perfect way to end the day.

What am I?

Mason Dixie wanted to know what kind of doggy I am. My adoption papers show that my mom is a Shepherd/Collie mix. My dad is anyone's guess. My siblings were a variety of colors although one of my sisters looks exactly like me. Here's a puppy video that was taken of me and my brothers and sisters while we were living at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. We make our appearance about half way through the video. My twin sister is wearing a pink collar and I'm wearing a blue collar. My mom never gets tired of watching this video. :)

Thank you Mason Dixie!

"Yoo Hoo... Trooper! You have mail!"

A package for ME???

It's a Happy Birthday present from Mason Dixie!

Mason Dixie sent me a custom made, one-of-a kind stuffie toy! She even embroidered my name on it. How COOL is that??

My mom let me take the toy outside and I immediately carried it to the top of my snow mountain. It's a little hard to see against the white snow but the toy is in my mouth.

My Trooper toy makes a nice pillow too!

Thank you Mason Dixie! I LOVE my new toy!

Honest Scrap Award

My cute and adorable friend Mason Dixie gave me an Honest Scrap award!

"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog”. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

Ten honest things about myself:

1. I am really, really terrified of walking through tunnels.

2. I love going for car rides. My dad has a special mat just for me and I like to lie down on it with my head on the center console. That makes it easy for my dad to pet me while he's driving.

3. I like to antagonize my Grandpa Ollie by barking incessantly in his face.

4. When I was a little puppy I chewed up lots of things... Like my dad's slipper (it was just a tiny hole!) and the legs of the brand new office chair. Oh, I decorated the backyard with my mom's yarn too.

5. I chewed my fancy new retractable leash in half... not once but twice! My dad was NOT amused.

6. Even though our evil kitty weighs less than 10 lbs., she scares me when she comes over and sniffs at my face. I'll lie motionless until she walks away.

7. I get back at the kitty by eating her food in the kitchen. My mom always knows when I eat the kitty food because she can smell my "tuna breath".

8. I always get blamed for making the stuffings come out of my stuffie toys. My mom and dad do not believe me when I tell them that the toys mysteriously explode on their own!

9. I do not have a mean bone in my body. I love EVERYBODY (especially Mason Dixie... hehe!) My mom and dad have never heard me growl... not even play growling!

10. I have a funny mustache right under my nose that makes me look like I'm smiling even when I'm not smiling. (Can you see my mustache?)

Thank you for the award Mason Dixie! Now I'm going to pass it along to Bob and Blackie, Bruce and Madison.

Tennis Ball Toy

Yesterday was my first birthday and my mom and dad surprised me with a new toy!

It's a cool tennis ball toy just like my buddy Thor's!

This photo is a little blurry because I was shaking the toy and swinging it around in circles.

My mom even threw it around the backyard for me. I was tired after playing catch with my mom... I took a little rest and I kept the toy under my paw for safe keeping.

Thanks for playing with me today mom. I love my new tennis ball toy!

Car Ride!

Last week my dad took me with him to pick up a load of firewood. As you can see by these pictures, I LOVE riding in the car! My mom apologizes for the funny sun spot reflections in this picture. She wanted to include it in this post because she loves the goofy expression on my face.

Here I am helping my Dad back into the driveway. "Look out Dad! Don't hit the tree!"

As you can see, I am a very good co-pilot!

Mom, are you still taking pictures of me?

In this photo I was snoopervising my Dad as he was stacking the firewood. "Hurry up Dad! We don't have all day... that firewood isn't going to stack itself you know!"

Whew! All of that car riding and firewood snoopervising wore me out. I had to lie down and take a break!

I hope my Dad takes me for a hike next week. I'll keep you posted! Love, Trooper

I Was Tagged!

I was tagged by my buddy Mason Dixie to share what I was doing a year ago at this time. Well, I wasn't born until February 14th 2008 (Valentine's Day!) so I guess I was curled up inside of my doggy mom. I can tell you what my humans were doing last year at this time. They had just returned from a visit to Texas. While in Texas they discovered a diner called the Waffle House. We don't have Waffle Houses in California but my mom says there are Waffle Houses all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area. My mom was in waffle heaven...

My mom and dad were in Texas to attend their nephew's wedding. The wedding was held at the Robert Carr chapel on the TCU campus in Fort Worth. (Go Frogs!)

After the wedding my mom and dad went to my Uncle Steve's house. This is my doggy cousin Teddy. Teddy is about the size of one of my stuffie toys. I wonder if he squeaks when you squeeze him?

As a special bonus, my mom wanted to share one of my puppy pictures with you. This is my actual Rancho Coastal Humane Society photo. Look at how small I was!

Now it's my turn to tag my buddies. Bob and Blackie... Dozer... Thor... what were you doing at this time last year?

Will you play with me?

I'm bored today... I wish someone would play with me.

I put my carrot toy on Grandpa Ollie but he didn't want to play with me. He wanted to sleep...

Hey Mr. Squirrel! Will you play with me?

Sigh... I guess nobody wants to play with me today.
